On February 17, 2004 Tor Books sent the following to Dragonmount, "Tor expects to publish The Wheel of Time book #11 in 2005. As soon as we have more information about this much-anticipated next book in the series, we will send out another communication. Thanks for your patience."
On February 1, 2004 Jordan sent a note to Dragonmount saying, "Book Eleven is coming along nicely, though I still don't have a title for it. That usually comes late in the writing. I am still hoping to finish in two more books, counting this one. In any event, there will be a few things resolved in the eleventh book."
In a USA Today Interview on January 6, 2004 he repeated, "I very much hope to finish in two more main sequence books. It's not an absolute promise, but I'm very much hoping for it and I think I can do it." The Wheel of Time series will finish up at an even dozen books.
In the Glimmers Q&A (July 2002), Robert Jordan announced that, "After Crossroads of Twilight, there will be two more books, knock wood, God willing and the creek don't rise."
