I took my car into the dealership to have them look at the "service engine soon" light. They found nothing. They gave me a ride back to work after I dropped the car off, and the driver said that one of the causes is not having your gas cap on all the way. When I picked up the car, the guy there confirmed it. Apparently, there's some smog checks going on there. The sensors start to think that there's too much air in the fuel intake and so raises an alarm.
They fixed the keyless remote, or whatever it's called, by replacing it. It cost me $75. I asked about the extended service plan that I purchased (7 years, 100000 miles) and was told that the company that handled that plan had gone out of business in July. That was news to me. Had Suzuki sent out any notices? No, the guy said, but don't blame us mechanics, blame our sales people. Which I will. I'm going to have to call them back.
