A young Tairen lord. He is the eldest son of High Lord Torean.

Physical Description

He is plain-faced with lank hair. He looks like a farmer. (TSR,Ch2) He is potato-nosed and jug-eared with lanky hair and a beard. (TFoH,Ch30)

Baran, Carlomin, Edorion, Estean and Reimon play cards with Mat. Estean is particularly drunk and obnoxious. They are terrified when Mat's cards come to life and attack him. (TSR,Ch2)
Lord Estean cheers for Rand when he meets with the nobles in the Heart of the Stone. (TSR,Ch21)
Edorion, Estean, Daricain and Meresin lead a party of men who escape from Cairhien after the Shaido lay siege. They find Rand in Eianrod and pay homage to him when he promises to help. (TFoH,Ch30)
As Mat tries to escape, he encounters the Tairen force led by Melanril and Estean. Talmanes leads the Cairhienin and Daerid leads the pikemen. (TFoH,Ch43)
Mat coordinates with Estean, Nalesean, Talmanes and Daerid as they fight the Shaido. (TFoH,Ch44)
In celebration of winning the battle with the Shaido, Estean and Daerid get drunk and party with an Aielman. (TFoH,Ch45)
Estean excitedly brings news to Mat that a Sea Folk ship is docked at Aringill. (LoC,Ch5)
After the Band of the Red Hand completes its commission with King Roedran, Talmanes leaves five banners of foot soldiers under Daerid and three banners of horsemen under Estean in Murandy with orders to move north into Andor. (KoD,Ch26)
