Wilders
Women who begin to channel on their own without instruction are called wilders. Wilders often burn themselves out or die horribly if they are not found by the White Tower and taught. Many Aes Sedai do not like wilders. One of the reasons is that wilders tend to develop their own non-standard techniques that are very difficult to correct.
