Tarna Feir

Pronunciation: TAHR-nah feer

An Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah. She was a wilder. She has worn the shawl for twenty years. She is Altaran.

Physical Description

She is taller than Siuan with pale yellow hair and cold blue eyes. She is arrogant and humorless. (NS,Ch3) She is haughty. She has pale yellow hair, blue eyes and a prominent chin. (LoC,Ch8)

Chronology

Tarna Feir comes to the White Tower as a wilder. She cannot hold saidar unless she has her eyes closed which means she cannot channel. Galina takes a personal interest in her and beats her until she overcomes her block. (LoC,Ch13)
Tarna is a novice for nine years. She is raised to Accepted the year before Moiraine and Siuan. (NS,Ch3)
Tarna brings news to Siuan and Moiraine that Gitara Moroso died. Tamra Ospenya summons all Accepted including Tarna to the Oval Lecture Hall where she announces a bounty for women who recently gave birth. (NS,Ch3)
The Accepted including Tarna scramble back to their rooms and prepare to leave the White Tower to take the census. (NS,Ch4)
Tarna Feir is raised to the shawl circa 980 NE and selects the Red Ajah. (CoT,Ch22)
Galina makes a pass at Tarna but she declines. Tarna prefers men. (KoD,Ch25)
Elaida sends Tarna to Salidar as an emissary. (TFoH,Ch49)
Tarna arrives in Salidar and meets with the Sitters. (LoC,Ch8)
Nynaeve eavesdrops while Tarna Feir meets with Sheriam, Anaiya, Beonin, Carlinya, Morvrin and Myrelle in the Little Tower. They tell her they need more time to consider Elaida's offer. (LoC,Ch12)
Tarna interviews Elayne and Nynaeve trying to persuade them to return to the White Tower with her. She knows about Siuan and Leane and hints that she knows about Logain as well. (LoC,Ch13)

Tarna is so terrified by what she saw in Salidar that she nearly rides her horse to death hurrying to Tar Valon. In Murandy she encounters a recruiting party of Asha'man. (CoT,Ch22)
Tarna arrives at Dorlan the day after the mystery army surrounds Tar Valon. She takes command from Covarla and takes Lusonia Cole's room at the mayor's house. (CoT,Prologue)
When Narenwin arrives at Dorlan with orders for Gawyn, Tarna and Katerine conscript her to get them back into the White Tower. (CoT,Prologue)
Tsutama orders Tarna and Katerine to keep quiet about Dumai's Wells. (KoD,Prologue)
When the rebel army arrives and Alviarin is nowhere to be found, the Hall elects Tarna Feir as the new Keeper of the Chronicles. (CoT,Ch22)
Tarna and Pevara discuss the situation with the White Tower and the Black Tower. They agree that they must approach the Asha'man. (CoT,Ch22)
Tarna reports to Elaida but she has little new news. She is having difficulty recruiting Red Ajah sisters to bond Asha'man as Warders. (KoD,Ch25)
Following Tsutama's orders, Pevara, Desala, Javindhra, Jezrail, Melare and Tarna Travel to the Black Tower and ask Mazrim Taim for permission to bond Asha'man as Warders. He agrees. (KoD,Epilogue)
Tarna agrees with Pevara that they should leave the Black Tower. She suddenly begins acting strange and says they should stay. (ToM,Ch53)
