Development Case:
Context and Applicability
Topics
Background
This section places the configured process, described by this
development case, in the context of the development organization and its
standard processes and best practices.
It also describes the applicability of the configured process
identifying re-use possibilities.
[Describe the context for the development case. The text below provides
the context for the example values used to populate the template.]
This development case is part of a Rational Unified Process process
configuration.
It describes a typical process configuration aimed at medium
size projects, of average formality, developing components using the Rational and
MicroSoft tool sets.
[The composite nature of development cases is such that, in the appropriate
circumstances, the individual discipline
configurations could be reused as parts of other development cases.
Often an organization's initial development cases addresses multiple
concerns (for example small projects, developing for the web and using
Java). In these circumstances the individual discipline configurations
could be reused across multiple development cases.
For each of the dimensions of the configuration the following table
should be completed:
| Discipline |
Comment |
| Name of the discipline configuration. |
Description of the concerns addressed by the
configuration. |
The following disciplines are usually configured to reflect the size and
formality of the project:
The following disciplines are usually configured to reflect the development
style of the project (for example real-time vs. non-real time or Microsoft
vs. IBM):
The partially completed tables can be used as the basis for documenting
the instantiated development case.]
