Kirstian Chalwin

One of the Kin Elders in Ebou Dar. She works as a weaver. She is probably Cairhienin.

Physical Description

She has a pale face and black eyes. She looks about ten years older than Nynaeve. (TPoD,Ch1) She is pretty. (WH,Ch8) She is medium height. (WH,Ch8)

Chronology

• In the early 700's NE, Kirstian is a novice in the White Tower. She runs away and spends the next three centuries with the Kin. (TPoD,Ch28)
• The Kin Elders including Kirstian are meeting when Elayne returns with the Aes Sedai from Tarasin Palace. (ACoS,Ch31)
• At the Tarasin Palace, after the Bowl is recovered, the five Kin Elders who are not Wise Women including Kirstian have the task of shielding and guarding Ispan. (ACoS,Ch39)
• Kirstian and the rest of the Kin Elders wait in the Tarasin Palace stableyard to go through Aviendha's gateway to the farm. Kirstian holds the shield on Ispan and is none too happy about the responsibility. (TPoD,Ch1)
• Kirstian and the rest of the Kin Elders ride from the gateway to the farm. The rest of the Elders take turns bugging Elayne to pass care of Ispan from them to the Aes Sedai. (TPoD,Ch3)
• Kirstian participates in the circle that uses the Bowl of the Winds to fix the weather. (TPoD,Ch5)
• Kirstian and the rest of the Kin Elders Travel with Elayne to Andor when the Seanchan attack the farm. (TPoD,Ch6)
• Kirstian and the rest of the Kin Elders travel across Andor with Elayne toward Caemlyn. (TPoD,Ch20)
• Kirstian and the rest of the Kin Elders travel with Elayne to the Royal Palace in Caemlyn. When Garenia is unmasked as Zarya Alkaese, Kirstian breaks down and confesses that she ran away as a novice nearly three hundred years ago! She is put into white by the Aes Sedai. (TPoD,Ch28)
• Kirstian and Zarya conclude that Adeleas' murderer must be Merilille, Careane or Sareitha. They report this to Vandene. Elayne puts them in Vandene's charge to keep them from talking any more. (WH,Ch8)
• Kirstian and Zarya follow Vandene as she goes about her business in the Royal Palace. (CoT,Ch11)
• Kirstian and Zarya meekly follow Vandene and Jaem as they walk through the Royal Palace. (KoD,Ch14)
• Kirstian and Zarya follow Vandene in to see Elayne when she reports the murder of Reanne. (KoD,Ch17)
