Physical Description

She is very dark and stunningly beautiful. She has flecks of gray in the tight black curls of her hair. She is a hand shorter than Renaile. She wears an air of command. (WH,Prologue) She is short, with a close cap of graying curls. She wears green brocades and a white mourning stole. (KoD,Ch22)

Chronology

• Zaida, her Swordmaster and a retinue disembark the White Spray at Aringill and head for Caemlyn. (LoC,Ch5)
• Zaida and her retinue take rooms at The Ball and Hoop in Caemlyn. She sends a petition for an audience to Rand. (LoC,Ch26)
• Having been stood up by Rand, Zaida sends him a petulant letter asking for another audience. (LoC,Ch28)
• Zaida and Renaile force an audience with Elayne in the Royal Palace. They demand that Elayne live up to their bargain and provide more Aes Sedai as teachers for the Windfinders. (WH,Prologue)
• Nynaeve demonstrates shielding on Talaan as she gives lessons to Zaida and six Windfinders, Caire, Kurin, Rainyn, Senine, Shielyn and Tebreille. (WH,Ch11)
• Zaida has a fit when she learns that Nynaeve has vanished. (WH,Ch11)
• When they learn of Nesta's death, Zaida, Shielyn and Chanelle meet with Elayne they agree to leave behind nine Windfinders led by Chanelle. (CoT,Ch12)
• Zaida leaves for Illian accompanied by twelve Windfinders. (CoT,Ch12)
• The First Twelve look favorably on Zaida's Bargain with Elayne and elect her the new Mistress of the Ships. (KoD,Ch22)
• Zaida calls a meeting of the First Twelve and their Windfinders to meet with Logain. He brings an order from Rand to ship supplies to Arad Doman. Cemeille arrives with the sad news that the Amayar committed mass suicide. (KoD,Ch22)
