Silviana Brehon

The Mistress of Novices after the breaking of the White Tower. She is Red Ajah.

Physical Description

She is stocky and square-faced. (TPoD,Ch25) She stocky and tall with a square, determined chin. She has large, unsettling eyes. She wears her dark hair in a bun on the back of her head. (KoD,Prologue)

Chronology

• Silviana becomes Mistress of Novices after Elaida is raised to the Amyrlin Seat. (TFoH,Prologue)
• Alviarin has Silviana administer punishment to Elaida for issuing orders without her approval. (TPoD,Ch25)
• Elaida orders Alviarin to serve a penance with Silviana. (CoT,Ch21)
• Alviarin continues to receive a daily penance with Silviana. (KoD,Prologue)
• Katerine and Barasine bring Egwene to Silviana. Silviana treats her as a novice and promises her punishment if she refuses to toe the line. Egwene tells her of her Dream about Seanchan attacking the White Tower. (KoD,Prologue)
• Egwene visits Silviana so often that she requires Healing. She has a conversation with her about Shemerin. (KoD,Ch24)

• Silviana summons Egwene from her study to the Hall of the Sitters to see the beam of sunlight on Dragonmount. (TGS,Epilogue)
• Silviana brings word to Egwene that the Dragon Reborn has come to see her. She is overcome by Rand�s ta'veren effect. (ToM,Ch3)
• Silviana refuses to let Gawyn in to see Egwene until she is ready. (ToM,Ch5)
• Silviana accompanies Egwene after the failed assassination attempt. (ToM,Ch23)
• Silviana brings news to Egwene that the Hall is meeting without informing her. (ToM,Ch27)
