Perrin Aybara
Pronunciation: PEHR-rihn ay-BAHR-ah
aka: Sei'cair, Young Bull
A friend of Mat and Rand. A ta'veren. He is from a farm east of Emond's Field, apprenticed to blacksmith Haral Luhhan. His father and mother are Con Aybara and Joslyn Aybara. He has two younger sisters, Adora and Deselle, and a younger brother, Paet.
Physical Description
He is half a head shorter than Rand and stocky with thick arms and shoulders. He has curly brown hair. (TEotW,Ch3) His eyes were dark brown before becoming a Wolfbrother. (TGH,Ch14) He is about 6'1" or 6'2" and about 235 to 240 pounds.

Chronology
- Perrin is born near the end of the year 978 NE.
- Joslyn Aybara and Con Aybara bring their family, Perrin, Adora, Deselle and baby Paet, to the annual sheep shearing. Perrin's parents talk with Master Luhhan about apprenticing him. Rand, Mat and Perrin goof off with Bandry Crawe, Dav Ayellin, Elam Dowtry and Lem Thane until the mayor summons them for a story. (TEotW,Earlier)
- Perrin joins Mat and Rand when Fain comes to the village. (TEotW,Ch3)
- Perrin, Mat, Rand and Egwene meet Thom who offers to tell stories. (TEotW,Ch4)
- After Moiraine Heals Tam, she goes to fetch Perrin and Mat. (TEotW,Ch8)
- Perrin meets the others in the stable and brings his axe. (TEotW,Ch10)
- Perrin and the rest of the party ride to Taren Ferry. (TEotW,Ch11)
- Perrin and the rest of the party cross the Taren River, camp for an hour, then head north for Baerlon. (TEotW,Ch12)
- Perrin and the rest of the party arrive at the Stag and Lion in Baerlon where they are welcomed by Master Fitch. (TEotW,Ch13)
- Perrin and the rest have hot baths and a good meal. That night Ba'alzamon visits his dreams. (TEotW,Ch14)
- Perrin sleeps in, seriously shaken by his dream. He is still there when Nynaeve arrives. (TEotW,Ch15)
- Perrin and the rest of the group meet with Nynaeve. Nynaeve then has a private talk with Moiraine. (TEotW,Ch16)
- Perrin and the rest of the group enjoy Thom's stories in the common room. After a Fade confronts Rand, the group flees. At the town gate they are confronted by Whitecloaks before they can escape. (TEotW,Ch17)
- Perrin and the rest of the party ride east for three days. They are attacked by Trollocs and take refuge in Shadar Logoth. (TEotW,Ch18)
- After they make camp, Mat convinces Rand and Perrin to go exploring. They meet Mordeth who offers them treasure, then attacks them. They barely reach camp before dark. Lan returns from scouting with news there are Trollocs nearby so they prepare to flee. (TEotW,Ch19)
- As they ride, Mashadar separates Moiraine and Lan from Mat and the rest. Trollocs attack and everyone scatters. Egwene meets up with Perrin, but she falls behind when Trollocs give chase. Perrin falls in the river, but makes it across losing his horse and his cloak. (TEotW,Ch20)
- Perrin finds Egwene and Bela and they agree to head cross-country toward Caemlyn. (TEotW,Ch22)
- Perrin has more dreams of Ba'alzamon. Elyas Machera finds Perrin and Egwene. He introduces them to the wolves and agrees to lead them back to the road. (TEotW,Ch23)
- The wolves guard Perrin's dreams. Elyas, Perrin and Egwene meet a band of Tinkers and join them. (TEotW,Ch25)
- They travel with the Tinkers for a few days. Ba'alzamon reenters Perrin's dreams. They split from the Tinkers and head south. (TEotW,Ch27)
- Elyas, Perrin and Egwene are attacked by ravens and barely manage to escape into a stedding. (TEotW,Ch29)
- Whitecloaks approach their camp. Elyas leaves. Perrin, Egwene and Bela are captured by the Whitecloaks. Perrin kills two of them. (TEotW,Ch30)

- Perrin spends much of the evening in an isolated courtyard so Egwene and Mat never find him. After the attack, Perrin goes to visit Mat, but Leane chases him away after she Delves him. He talks to Rand for a bit, then leaves. (TGH,Ch7)
- The Amyrlin asks Perrin to accompany Mat and Rand in search of the Horn and the ruby dagger. He agrees. (TGH,Ch8)
- He leaves with Rand et al. to fetch the Horn and the ruby dagger. (TGH,Ch9)
- Hurin leads Rand, Mat, Perrin, Loial and the Shienarans south. (TGH,Ch10)
- Mat and Perrin see the Dragon Banner and learn Rand is the Dragon Reborn. They bed down with the Shienarans, as far from him as possible. (TGH,Ch11)
- With Hurin missing, Perrin calls the wolves and gives them the scent of Trollocs and Fain. They tell him to continue south. Perrin tells Ingtar about the wolves and he accepts Perrin's offer to lead. (TGH,Ch14)
- Mat, Perrin, Verin, Ingtar and rest of the Shienarans encounter Urien who is looking for He Who Comes With the Dawn. Mat and Perrin wonder if it might be Rand. (TGH,Ch28)

- Rand, Mat, Perrin, Verin, Loial and Ingtar go to The Great Tree. Hurin reports that the Horn is in Lord Barthanes' manor. (TGH,Ch31)

- The party attendees rejoin Perrin at the inn. The decide to try Stedding Tsofu next. (TGH,Ch33)

- Moiraine tells Perrin a bit about men and wolves. That night he meets Hopper in his dreams where he sees a strange man skinned alive and walks in on Lanfear. (TDR,Ch9)
- Moiraine, Lan, Perrin and Loial follow Rand across Ghealdan. They arrive at Remen and stay at the Wayland's Forge. He sees and Aiel in a cage. (TDR,Ch33)
- Moiraine, Lan, Perrin and Loial take rooms at Wayland's Forge. Perrin goes back out and frees Gaul they are attacked by Whitecloaks and kill them. (TDR,Ch34)

- Moiraine, Lan, Perrin, Loial and Faile arrive at Illian. Despite Moiraine's discouragement, Faile insists on joining them. (TDR,Ch41)
- Moiraine, Lan, Perrin, Loial and Faile arrive at the Easing the Badger inn. At dinner, six Gray Men attack Perrin. (TDR,Ch42)
- Lan, Perrin, Loial and Faile scout the area and find traces of Darkhound. Perrin has his first prophetic dreams, then wakes to find Faile by his bed. (TDR,Ch43)
- Moiraine, Lan, Perrin, Loial and Faile flee Illian. They are pursued by Darkhounds. Perrin kills one with an arrow and Moiraine balefires the rest. (TDR,Ch44)

- When Faile succumbs to the hedgehog trap, Perrin refuses to obey Moiraine and leaps after her, finding himself in the wolf dream. Hopper agrees to help him find Faile. (TDR,Ch53)
- Perrin and Hopper search for Faile in the Stone of Tear and kill some guards in the process. (TDR,Ch54)
- Perrin finally frees Faile after being attacked by falcons. He wakes to find himself back in the inn with Faile tending his wounds. They murmur sweet nothings to each other. (TDR,Ch55)
- Faile and Perrin are discussing leaving the Stone of Tear when a bubble of evil causes Perrin's axe to attack them. (TSR,Ch2)
- Thinking Rand was responsible, they head to his quarters. Faile is upset by the way Perrin looks at Berelain. Perrin goes on to visit Rand. Discovering his injuries, he hastily sends for Moiraine. (TSR,Ch3)
- Perrin roams the taverns looking for rumor of an adventure that will take Faile out of danger. (TSR,Ch9)
- Perrin and Faile guard each other's back during the Shadowspawn attack. (TSR,Ch10)
- Perrin hears a rumor of Whitecloaks in the Two Rivers after the Dragon Reborn and a Darkfriend with yellow eyes. He tells Rand and Mat that he is going home. (TSR,Ch13)
- Berelain flirts with Perrin in Faile's presence. Perrin uses this to try to anger Faile into leaving him. (TSR,Ch14)
- Perrin asks Loial to take him through the Ways to the Two Rivers. He agrees, but Faile already tricked him into promising to take her, too. Gaul agrees to accompany Perrin. (TSR,Ch16)
- Loial leads Perrin, Faile, Gaul, Bain and Chiad to the Waygate. (TSR,Ch18)
- Loial leads Perrin, Faile, Gaul, Bain and Chiad through the Ways to the site of ancient Manetheren. They are attacked by Trollocs and a Fade, then the Black Wind. (TSR,Ch27)
- Perrin, Faile, Loial, Gaul, Bain and Chiad camp near the Waygate. Perrin enters the wolf dream and meets Slayer and Birgitte. (TSR,Ch28)
- After three days travel, near Emond's Field. Perrin and Gaul go to the Winespring Inn followed by Faile, Bain and Chiad. Perrin learns his family is dead. (TSR,Ch29)
- Loial arrives. Marin takes them all to the old sickhouse where they can hide. (TSR,Ch30)
- Perrin, Faile, Loial, Gaul, Bain and Chiad meet Alanna and Verin at the old sickhouse. Tam and Abell join them. (TSR,Ch31)
- Perrin and others ride to scout the Whitecloak encampment at Watch Hill. Halfway there, they stop at Jac al'Seen's place. (TSR,Ch32)
- Perrin leads his growing party to Watch Hill. Perrin, Faile and the Aiel rescue the Whitecloaks' prisoners. (TSR,Ch33)
- Perrin leads an attack on a band of Trollocs, but it turns out to be an ambush and many of his men are killed. Perrin is seriously wounded with an arrow in his side. (TSR,Ch40)
- Perrin and others enter a Tinker camp after fighting Trollocs. Faile and Ila put him to bed and give him a potion to make him sleep. (TSR,Ch41)
- In the wolf dream, Perrin discovers that the Waygate is open again. Slayer attacks him but he escapes. When he wakes, he insists that the band ride back to Emond's Field. (TSR,Ch42)
- Perrin is carried into the Winespring Inn. He summons Loial and tells him that the Waygate is open again. Alanna arrives and Heals him. (TSR,Ch43)
- Perrin wakes to the news that Loial and Gaul are gone. He wants to go after them but is too weak. Instead, he organizes the Emond's Field defenses against the first Trolloc attack. (TSR,Ch44)
- Perrin admits Raen's band of Tinkers when they arrive. He lets Aram take a sword and Aram swears allegiance to him. He and Bran confront Dain Bornhald and reach an agreement that the Whitecloaks can stay in Emond's Field if they do not bother anyone. (TSR,Ch45)
- Perrin manages continuing Trolloc attacks. In the wolf dream he seriously wounds Slayer. When he wakes he hears that Luc fled. He asks Faile to go for help. She agrees, but her price is a wedding so they are married. (TSR,Ch53)
- Perrin leads the combined forces of the Two Rivers to destroy the Trolloc army. (TSR,Ch56)
- Perrin and Faile build a manor house in Emond's Field and he slowly adjusts to his new status. After some time, Perrin feels Rand's pull again and tells Faile that he must go to him. (LoC,Prologue)
- Perrin and Faile arrive in Caemlyn with an army of Two Rivers men. They meet with Rand in the Royal Palace. Rand asks Perrin to go to Tear in Mat's stead but he declines. (LoC,Ch45)
- Perrin meets with Davram Bashere then they join Deira Bashere and Faile. Her parents finally agree to accept him as their son-in-law. (LoC,Ch46)

- Berelain stalks Perrin and Faile is intensely jealous. She constantly smells angry and hurt and she will not speak to him. Perrin avoids Berelain by hunting with Gaul and visiting the Royal Library. (LoC,Ch50)
- Faile traps Loial into playing endless games of stones when Perrin is around. Perrin is watching a game when Nandera comes looking for Rand. (LoC,Ch51)
- Perrin learns that Rand was kidnapped and plans to set out in pursuit the next morning. (LoC,Ch53)
- Perrin leads the forces from Cairhien north. He contacts the wolves for surveillance information. They rejoin the Two Rivers men and the Salidar Aes Sedai embassy. (LoC,Ch54)

- In the aftermath of Dumai's Wells, Perrin is with most of the armies a ways from the battle site. He is worried about Faile. He wants to stay away because it is horrible, but feels he has to let Rand know how tense things are. He rides north on Stepper. (ACoS,Ch1)

- He accompanies Rand and his entourage as they Travel to Cairhien. He worries some more about Faile. (ACoS,Ch3)

- He accompanies Rand and a small group into the Grand Hall to confront Colavaere. He stupidly asks about Berelain in front of Faile. (ACoS,Ch5)
- Rand and most of the rest leave to find Berelain. Perrin and Faile go to their quarters. She is mad until he gets mad back. Rand returns and asks him to lead the army. He refuses and Rand says he has another use for him. (ACoS,Ch6)
- Rand and Perrin have a fight about the treatment of the captured Aes Sedai. Rand tells Perrin that he never wants to see him again and to get out of Cairhien. Perrin then leaves the city, meets up with a small army, and they Travel to Ghealdan. (ACoS,Ch27)
- Perrin is with a small group, Faile, Aram, Berelain, Annoura, Gallenne, Seonid, her Warders, Edarra and Nevarin, scouting Bethal. He sends Berelain, Annoura and Gallenne to meet with Alliandre. On their way back to camp Perrin, Aram and the Warders rescue Maighdin and her party. (TPoD,Ch7)
- After they return to camp Perrin talks with Basel Gill. He is worried after Gill tells him about the Seanchan in Amador. (TPoD,Ch8)
- The next morning Perrin visits the Wise Ones to talk about Masema and the Aes Sedai. (TPoD,Ch9)
- Perrin meets Elyas who gives him advice about Faile. Alliandre arrives and swears fealty to Perrin and through him to Rand. Perrin orders seven Dragonsworn hung for murder. (TPoD,Ch10)
- Perrin visits Masema with Neald, Grady, Balwer, Edarra, Carelle, Masuri, Seonid, their three Warders, Aram and Elyas. (TPoD,Ch30)
- Perrin and the others leave Abila and ride back to camp. Perrin is furious that Masema insists on riding all the way to Cairhien. (WH,Ch1)
- Perrin learns that Faile was kidnapped. He contacts the wolves, but they cannot help him. After organizing the search, he goes to sit on a ridge with Tallanvor. (WH,Ch2)
- Perrin searches the wolf dream for Faile and nearly freezes to death. Berelain finds him and has Annoura Heal him. The next morning, he rebuffs her so she starts a rumor that he spent the night with her. He heads off to find Masema. (WH,Ch5)
- Perrin issues orders to mobilize the camps. The scouts return and report to him that Faile was taken gai'shain by the Shaido and that they are heading south. When Masema arrives with thousands of Dragonsworn, he agrees to Travel with Perrin in search of Faile. (WH,Ch6)
- In the wolf dream, Perrin smells an awful odor. The wolves will only tell him the Last Hunt is coming. As he walks through the camp, he discusses information and strategy with Balwer. (CoT,Ch5)
- As Perrin and Aram circle the camp, they find Darkhound tracks and Perrin recognizes the scent from his dream. He sends Aram to get the others. Berelain brings him a note stolen from Masema signed by Suroth. (CoT,Ch6)
- Perrin watches as Masuri inspects the Darkhound tracks. Masema arrives and tries to talk him into visiting the town of So Habor for supplies. Perrin says freeing Faile comes first, and then the trackers return. (CoT,Ch7)
- After hearing several opinions, Perrin decides against ransom. He sends for Grady so they can scout the Shaido camp. During the mission, Perrin sees a whirlpool of color with two figures. The channelers are all upset at the huge use of the One Power, but he assures them that it is Rand. (CoT,Ch8)
- Running out of food, Perrin finally agrees on an expedition to So Habor to buy grain. (CoT,Ch25)
- At the Golden Barge in So Habor, Perrin and Berelain negotiate for grain with the merchants. Perrin insists on seeing the warehouses where they discover the grain is infested with weevils. The town also has a plague of ghosts. (CoT,Ch26)
- Perrin and the others return from So Habor to their camp where they find Masema as well as Shaido prisoners being tortured. The Maidens say it could take days. Perrin cannot wait; he chops off one of the men's hands, then threatens to turn them all into quadriplegics. In the woods, he talks with Elyas about his feeling when he uses the axe. Elyas assures him it is just excitement, but Perrin still throws away his axe. Balwer brings news of Tallanvor and the Seanchan. Perrin agrees to meet with them. (CoT,Ch27)
- When Gaul and Neald kidnap Galina near Malden, she tells Perrin, Berelain and Arganda that she is in Malden on Aes Sedai business and that she is protecting Faile and Alliandre. Perrin mistakenly trusts her to send a message to Faile. (KoD,Prologue)
- Arganda and Gallenne accompany Perrin and Berelain as they meet with Banner-General Tylee Khirgan. Perrin and Tylee agree that she will help him free Faile from the Shaido if he will not raise the banner of Manetheren. (KoD,Ch4)
- Fager Neald opens a gateway to Almizar for Perrin and Tylee to get raken, forkroot and a'dam. (KoD,Ch12)
- Perrin looks on as his small force enters the Malden aqueduct and the Seanchan begin dumping in forkroot. Back at his camp he meets with Tylee, Balwer and Berelain for a news update. (KoD,Ch26)
- Perrin finishes scouting Malden and rejoins his men. Tam and the Two Rivers archers arrive. Perrin and Aram lead the charge against the Shaido. (KoD,Ch29)
- As they near the gates of Malden, Aram suddenly tries to kill Perrin but dies from a Shaido arrow. Perrin sees Faile being led by a Shaido warrior and kills him. The battle is soon over and Perrin and Faile prepare to move their people north. (KoD,Ch30)
- Perrin struggles to organize everyone to leave Malden. Now that Faile is rescued, he feels curiously let down rather than happy. (TGS,Ch9)

- Gaul, Sulin and Elyas report that the Whitecloaks are holding Basel Gill and his companions. Perrin orders a move to a better camp while they try to parley their release. (ToM,Ch7)
- Perrin sets up camp near a huge statue with a blade thrust into the ground. Dain Bornhald rides up to the camp and Perrin agrees to a brief meeting with Galad. (ToM,Ch10)
- Perrin and Faile celebrate their one-year anniversary and reconnect. (ToM,Ch16)
- Hopper teaches Perrin how to use the wolf dream. They find a strange, translucent wall which disappears. (ToM,Ch18)

- Perrin and Faile go to bed, but he is troubled because he really does not want a battle. In the wolf dream, Slayer kills Morninglight. Perrin tries to fight him but he is too strong. Perrin wakes and chops wood to think. (ToM,Ch24)
- The next morning, Perrin�s army meets the Whitecloaks. He orders the channelers and Two Rivers men to intimidate them then asks for one last parley and they agree. At the parley, Galad and Berelain are smitten. Galad gets a second shock when he and Morgase recognize each other. Perrin and Galad agree to a trial with Morgase as judge. (ToM,Ch26)
- In the wolf dream the violet dome is back and Slayer kills more wolves. Perrin barely survives. He and Hopper agree to practice every night. (ToM,Ch28)
- When the bubble of evil strikes and weapons start attacking, Perrin�s hammer does not come alive. Perrin sends a letter to the Whitecloaks requesting a delay in the trial. (ToM,Ch29)
- Cadsuane locates Perrin�s camp on the Jehannah Road and finds Tam. Tam makes his apologies to Perrin saying he has to leave, something to do with Rand. Cadsuane brings him to the Stone of Tear. (TGS,Ch47, ToM,Ch29)
- Perrin and Hopper practice in the wolf dream. The violet dome still limits movement. They go to Dragonmount and Perrin witnesses Rand�s epiphany. (ToM,Ch30)
- Perrin continues to practice with Hopper against wolf dream nightmares. (ToM,Ch33)
- Morgase sits in judgment at the trial. Byar and Bornhald testify and Perrin admits to killing the two Whitecloaks but says he fought on the same side as Geofram Bornhald at Falme. Morgase judges it to be a fight between mercenaries and finds Perrin guilty of illegal killing, not murder. She gives his punishment to Galad and he delays his sentence. (ToM,Ch34)
- Perrin tells Faile he is going to the wolf dream to confront Slayer. She is to have the army Travel to Whitebridge when Traveling works again. In the wolf dream, Slayer Oak Dancer and wounds Sparks, but Sparks finds the dreamspike and Perrin takes off with it. (ToM,Ch35)
- Perrin continues northeast and plans to hide in Tar Valon. Slayer attacks the whole way. (ToM,Ch36)
- Slayer retrieves the dreamspike. He kills Hopper and seriously wounds Perrin. In a last gasp effort, Perrin knocks them both into a nightmare. (ToM,Ch37)
- In the nightmare, Perrin tricks Slayer, stabbing him, and retrieves the dreamspike. He destroys the dreamspike in a lake of lava. Slayer is still alive and stronger and Perrin flees the wolf dream. Perrin wakes to find Faile beside him and tells her about Hopper. After Masuri Heals him, they Travel to Whitebridge. (ToM,Ch38)
- Perrin finally accepts his duty as a leader and forges a great war hammer. He orders the army to prepare and the channelers to open a gateway to the Whitecloak camp. As Perrin suspected, an army of Shadowspawn arrives and Perrin attacks. (ToM,Ch40)
- Arrows fall, but they hit the approaching Shadowspawn army. Galad is distressed at how poorly the Whitecloaks fight. He is unhorsed and breaks his ankle, but Perrin offers his horse. He sentences Perrin to pay blood price to the Whitecloaks� families and to fight in the Last Battle and Perrin agrees that is fair. Byar attacks Perrin from behind but Bornhald kills him. (ToM,Ch41)
- Perrin rescues a wounded Whitecloak soldier finally convincing Galad that he is good. Perrin offers to take the Whitecloaks to the Last Battle but only if Galad will swear allegiance to him. Galad agrees. (ToM,Ch43)
- Near Whitebridge, Perrin inspects a stand of trees that went dead and dry overnight. He is quite surprised when Morgase and Tallanvor ask him to marry them. They exchange vows and he offers a too brusque ceremony. (ToM,Ch44)
- Perrin and Faile have an audience with Elayne and Morgase. Though tense at the start, they finally agree that Elayne will cede the Two Rivers to the Dragon Reborn with Perrin as his steward. Later, Perrin, Mat and Thom reminisce and exchange stories in The Happy Throng. Perrin agrees to provide them a gateway to the Tower of Ghenjei. (ToM,Ch47)
- Perrin bids farewell to Mat, Thom] and Noal. Then the channelers open a large gateway and Perrin�s army marches through to the Field of Merrilor. He can feel the Last Battle starting. (ToM,Ch53)
- Perrin�s army is at the Field of Merrilor along with Galad and the Whitecloaks. He has not agreed to meet with Egwene. (ToM,Ch56)
